Can't sew... Where do I go to turn 2 old down comforters into one new one?

by Duffy
(Colorado)

Question:
Hi,

I just spent an unsuccessful 30 minutes searching for an answer to, "where can I send two old down comforters to have them remade into a nice new one?"

Do you know of anybody or any company offering this service at a reasonable price? Actually I did find one place, but they want almost double the price of a new comforter to refurbish an old one...

Thanks,
Duffy

Answer:

Hi Duffy,

I agree that having your duvet restored can be expensive, mostly in shipping costs due to the weight of the down bedding.

This is why, unless the goose down filling is high quality you might want to consider donating your duvets.

Since you can't sew, do you know someone who can? There are many fun and useful projects your duvets could be turned into.

...But if you really want to have them combined into a single duvet Old Europe Duvet Co. is the place to go.

They have reasonable shipping rates and being manufacturers they are masters of the trade in fabricating down bedding.

They can restore old down bedding, add goose down or change the outer casing. They even sell the renovation shells for those who would like to do it themselves. Plus, they welcome special requests such as yours. All it takes is a phone call to work out the details.
